Spring is here…

The Gym space and cupboards have had a little tidy up - please make yourself familiar with it all)

So it all stays comfortable at Riptide please put all your kit away at the end of your sessions and do a check over if that your clients have put kit back in the best possible place too - thank you

With regard to storing or moving some kit
with all cords and straps, certainly the ones on the rig - hang them over things to keep them clear -
though
don’t tie them multi wrap or tangle them over one another to get them clear of your work out space.

(If you are unsure what I am trying to say here, I can show you what I mean on another day if you like)

The window shutter at the far end will need gentle smooth assistance up should you need the daylight or fresh air through it or the speakers out the window to support the musical atmosphere of the classes.
It comes down ‘normally’

PLEASE BE AWARE AND CAREFUL - if the windows are open and activity is around them , they are a danger of protruding and hitting peoples heads should they leave bags outside under them….

FOR SECURITY - close down all shutters after each class - in case you are the last in that day

Nothing gets left outside if you are the last person of the day locking up.

Protecting the astro surface, floor and kit

Please have no slams on the black mats that cover the astroturf or directly on the astroturf

The dents from hard thrown and dropped weights are hard to remove and present an ankle turning and tripping problem

Just use the hard floor matted area under the sheltered part or the moveable mat around on the pavement
The reason on the mat so it does not wear the numbers off the balls like what the concrete does

The new BIG Wolverson balls are not for down to ground slams - they don’t last if that is the case - though certainly good for throws or into walls is mostly fine.

Likewise - encourage putting down of all kit rather than throwing or dropping in hasty or hench ways, once gain in the promotion of good use, health + safety for all users and ground protection

Thank you for all your contributions and support.

The Bars on the north end of the gym room run from 10’s to 12kg EZ to 15 Compact Bars, to some black 15’s and 2 20KG
The 10’s and black 15’s need a lift up to drop the lower end in behind the discs below

The 35kg Trap bars store sweetly between the rollers and boxes next to the mirror.

The other trap bars are marked for stporage in the north room

with the larg wall slam balls, heavy db’s, rollers, black mats, sand bags and medicine balls.

When leaving the sleds anywhere - please store them bottom to bottom
They are safer this way should they fall for any reason - the falling weight and leverage decent down the side of the lower leg or onto a foot is a hazard.
Plus - they are easy to move both at the same time (farmers carry with a mini rotation through the doors)

Be sure, when putting the Move Sonos speakers back on the charger/holder that the orange light shows up to indicate it will recharge - thank you

ROOM USE for CLASSES NOTICE

Safety and security is the starter of opening, running things and then closing.

The Riptide classes usually need 30 minutes setting up
If it is raining, they will need to take precedence inside.
They usually finish on time and the members often help putting it all away - it’s lovely
If we can all please put away our stuff after our sessions, it will help us all in setting up and easier use of the small theatre / storage of the indoor space.

On days when I may need to leave the gym and outdoor training zone between and early/midday session and an evening one, for security, I may put back kit ready into the centre area of the gym space so on my return it’s convenient/easier to put out faster.
If you are looking to use the gym space in an afternoon (Monday to Thursday) please let me know so i can consider that for making good space for you.

Thank you very much for your attention on this.
Looking to keep it simple always.

Beneath here will be a list of things on how and where they are best stored and best placed when we are open and using the place..
This may well change if it is just indoor PT, though will vary depending on how many PTS’ are using the kit and space, where stuff is best placed will vary.
Nothing gets left outside if you are the last person locking up.

Let me know of the time you wished marked so other know you are there for a class of your own or PT session

Any other points you wish shared on here so we can all help one another get the best out of Riptide, please let me know.

Thanks guys

Speak and see you soon
