Core Stability

Core Stability

It has now heavily documented that just working on abdominals is not sufficient to reduce back pain, in fact weak and unbalanced core muscles are linked to lower back pain.

The ‘core’ consists of many different muscles that stabilise the spine and pelvis and run the entire length of the torso, therefore providing a solid foundation for movement in the extremities.

The muscles of the core make it possible to stand upright and move on two feet. These muscles help control movements, transfer energy, shift body weight and allow us to move in any direction. A strong core distributes the stresses of weight-bearing and protects the back.

In your Personal Training Sessions, we will identify which method of development of your core to take.

Free Monthly Standard Personal Training Sessions: we will progressively introduce to you the variety of core stability strengthening exercises available at Riptide.

Riptide also has state of the art cable machines; Technogym Kinesis (a total body conditioning machine– We invested in the first ones in the South East) and a Cybex functional trainer, both of which effectively exercise and train the muscles used in everyday living and for any performance movement.

At Riptide, you are entitled to 1 Free Standard Personal Training Session a month to keep you at optimum performance in all areas of your fitness needs.

Riptide encourages Core Stability within an exercise routine for;
